Jet-Setting

Drew and I have made it through security at SFO, and are currently waiting for our flight to board.  Drew’s studying up on his language skills by reading “Dirty Korean.” He just showed me a handy phrase: “Your ass is playing the flute!”

We’re set to arrive in Incheon around 10:35 pm. After security and picking up our cell phones, we’ll have missed the last KAL limousine into the city, so we’ll be taking the train to Seoul Station (about an hour commute). From there it’s a few blocks to the Ramada.  I’m aiming for hotel check-in at 1 am.  We shall see.

Drew and I are scheduled to attend a Korean adoptee poetry book launch/open house on Saturday at InKAS’ Woorijip, the other adoptee guesthouse in Seoul.  Monday is our appointment with Drew’s case worker at Korean Social Service.  Hopefully they have some information for us.  I’m heartened by the fact that they were able to track their whereabouts up to 2005.  Holt was able to find Omma with contact information from 1983, so hopefully the fact that Drew’s family information is much more recent will work in our favor.

Over and out for now.
