We made it in mostly one piece to the Ramada in Seoul last night. We got a bit of a midnight (literally) tour of downtown Seoul because I forgot that Seoul Station exit 3 is different than Seoul Station exit 3 from the metro. Definitely walked along 2 1/2 sides of the Seoul Station Plaza unnecessarily. Minor detour, but at least we didn’t’ end up in Busan or something.
We made it in by 12:30, and after a shower and a midnight snack of cheese bokki and jjajjangmyeon, we crashed around 2 am.
I was awake before 5.
Oh, the bed was so cozy, and I was so tired, but my body was so confused.
So I got up and took a shower, which exhausted me. Laid in bed in my bathrobe for ten minutes to recover, but I couldn’t fall back asleep, so I got dressed and came down to the lobby where I am now enjoying peanut bread and kiwi-flavored yogurt drink. Lucky Drew is still sound asleep.
My thanks to Amul for arranging for us to stay here at the Ramada for a couple of days. I am definitely feeling that sometime in the next few hours, I’m going to crash, and it’s so nice knowing we don’t have to worry about checking out on time or finding our new hostel.
I have a feeling we’ll stick close by today. Maybe wander around Namdaemun and fulfill my favorite foreign travel activity of exploring the local grocery store. Mmm, some authentic kalguksu or jook would be just the thing today…
